Te Tōangaroa — Auckland Stadium

Auckland, New Zealand2024–Present50,000+ seats

Te Tōangaroa is a proposed new national stadium for Auckland — a 15-hectare CBD waterfront precinct that would replace Eden Park as New Zealand's premier multi-purpose venue. As Sports Lead Architect at Buchan, Jake Martin drove the sports brief, sightline analysis, federation compliance strategy, and stakeholder engagement framework.

The project involved extensive traditional landowner consultation with Māori iwi, engagement with NZR, NZ Cricket, NZ Football, and the Auckland Council, alongside complex financial planning and transport integration for a CBD location.
