Commonwealth Games 2018 — Athletics Overlay

The 2018 Commonwealth Games athletics overlay transformed Carrara Stadium (an AFL venue) into an IAAF-compliant athletics arena — one of the most complex venue conversions in Australian sporting history.

Jake was responsible for the overlay design and documentation strategy for Carrara, including a large temporary stand adding 15,000 seats, athletes' auxiliary and warm-up facilities, and media infrastructure. He also coordinated the report to the Commonwealth Games organising committee, integrating structural, human movement, traffic and electrical consultant inputs into a single submission document, and provided sightline and overlay design for multiple other venues across South East Queensland.
